The Story behind Georgian Cross
 

In 1985, Jozef Essavi, who was 11 years old, visited Europe with his cherished parents, Jack and Jane.  

His father lost his precious gold crucifix pendant while swimming in the Mediterranean Sea in Larnaca, Cyprus.
 

Witnessing his father lose such a treasured possession had a significant impact on the family. Eighteen years later, in 2003, Jozef traveled to the Republic of Georgia with his wife and infant daughter.  While in Tbilisi, he saw a beautiful crucifix pendant hanging on the neck of a family friend. Immediately, he remembered his father and he became determined to gift Jack this newly discovered style of the crucifix. 

 

After conducting some research, Jozef found the original Georgian-Armenian Gold jewelers and at once commissioned them to make this crucifix for his beloved father.

 

When Jozef presented the crucifix to his father, Jack was overcome with emotion and fell in love with it right away. The very same day, Jack went out and purchased a chain to go with the crucifix and wore it proudly daily. The intricate beauty and delicate craftsmanship displayed in this crucifix brought great fulfillment, blessing, and joy to Jack, as well as to everyone who saw it on him. As a result, Jozef decided to share the joy, reverence, and beauty of this crucifix with all people throughout the world.
